Buckles are used to secure pallets and loads, and to connect the two ends of the strapping during application. Buckles are also known as wire buckles.

The quality of the buckles is the most important factor affecting the strength of the strapping joint. The quality of the buckles depends on the wire diameter, the quality of the wire used, the quality of the surface coating, and the shape of the buckle.

MIO STRAP buckles are primarily used with Braided Polyester Composite Strapping, Textile (hotmelt) Strapping, and Woven Strapping, but they are also used with PET Strapping and PP Strapping.

MIO STRAP buckles are produced in two different surface qualities: phosphated and galvanized buckles.

The quality of the buckle is one of the important parameters that determine the strength of the strapping system. The most important factor affecting the system’s strength is the strength of the Joint.

The System Strength of Braided Polyester Composite Strapping is a very important parameter in terms of securing the package. For example, for composite strapping, its system strength should be more than 60% of its Linear Breaking Strength.

Phosphate Coated Buckles

The wire used to produce the wire buckle is coated with phosphate, hence they are known as such. They are used with Mio Strap braided polyester textile strapping (hotmelt) and Mio Strap braided polyester strapping. Thanks to the roughness of the wire surface, they are more compatible with these types of straps.

Galvanized Buckles

The wire used to produce the Wire Buckle is Galvanized, hence they are known as Galvanized Buckles.

Mio Strap Galvanized Buckles are used with Braided Polyester Composite Strapping and Braided Polyester Textile Strapping (hotmelt). They are also used with PET Strapping and PP Strapping applications. Although the System Strength of PET Strapping and buckle combinations and PP Strapping and buckle combinations is not as strong as the Composite Strapping and buckle combination, for light applications, PET and PP Strapping are manually used with a Galvanized Buckle due to its ease of use.
