PET STRAPPING
The MIO STRAP braided polyester textile strapping (hotmelt) is produced by combining high tenacity polyester yarns with hot glue (hot-melt glue method). This is why this type of strapping is referred to as Hotmelt strapping.
Due to its superior properties, textile strapping is preferred for heavy loads and cargoes transported under difficult conditions.
Product description
PET strapping can be used for loads requiring high, medium, and low-strength applications. It can be applied manually (with a buckle) or with semi-automatic (pneumatic or battery-powered) strapping tools, or used in fully automatic pallet strapping lines.
Resistant to severe weather conditions, it shows prolonged durability against adverse conditions (heat/cold/humidity). However, when exposed to sunlight, it loses its mechanical properties very quickly. For this reason, it should be stored under proper conditions and never exposed to sunlight.
When used with semi-automatic or fully automatic machines, PET strapping is very safe against impacts during transport. However, when used with buckles and wire seals, the system’s breaking strength becomes very low and, therefore, technically is not a recommended application method, as the load can be damaged during transport.
PET strapping, due to its strength and elastic properties, can be an alternative to steel strapping in some applications. When used for packaging metal products, it does not corrode in contact with the product, does not damage the product, and is suitable in terms of occupational safety.
There are two types of PET strapping: smooth surface and embossed surface. Smooth straps have higher breaking strength and stiffness than embossed ones.
It is one of the most used strapping in the world. It has higher breaking strength compared to PP strapping. However, braided straps have higher breaking strength values than PET strapping.
TARGET INDUSTRIES AND APPLICATION AREAS
Usually used in fully automated conveyor belt systems, it offers the advantage of being fast and safe.
Therefore, it is widely used in:
- Ceramic industry,
- Chipboard production,
- Paving blocks,
- Concrete for the construction industry,
- Preferably in the food industry
In addition to these areas, PET strapping is preferably used manually in other industries due to non-standard pallet measures:
- Marble and granite production,
- Aluminum,
- Metallurgical industry,
- Automotive,
- Durable goods,
- Automotive parts
- Pressing
MIO STRAP supplies products from international companies (CYKLOP and TEUFELBERGER) that have proven their quality in PET Strapping. With these high-quality products, our clients can create affordable solutions without sacrificing quality.
